Also most of these ponds connect to other ponds. You will not be able to walk all the way around most ponds. That’s why a raft of some sort is key to having a pond adventure. One side may be all beach with really nice sandy swimming water, or it could be all trees bordering the edge with mucky water. Each side of these ponds is usually a little different.
If your not into just relaxing all day at the pond, you can go to Jacks Boat Rentals, where you can rent canoes, kayaks, and different water rafts to explore every area of the pond. So on your way to the pond, make sure you invest in some floats, bring some balls to throw around and you will have plenty fun. And if you have really young kids that would get destroyed by the ocean waves then the pond is a perfect alternative. Also ponds obviously have no waves so if you just want to float around and chill, then this would be the time to do it. You can only have so much salt water in your life so the fresh water is always a good switch up. There are so many different ponds to explore in Wellfleet and you can’t go wrong with any of them. In my opinion one of the greatest places to go would be the Wellfleet kettle ponds.
Ponds are a nice change of pace if you want some thing different than the busy salt water beaches. If its time for a change and the beach is starting to get a little repetitive, then its time to find some ponds.
